Opportunity for impact
In this role, you will provide virtual cardiovascular support to our NPs, cardiologists, and patients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, personalized care, ensuring seamless coordination of care, top-of-license service, and optimal patient outcomes. You will be at the forefront of transforming cardiovascular care delivery models for our clients through telehealth.
Role and responsibilities
- Review scheduled patients to verify they are appropriately booked for their telehealth visit and that all prior visit tasks are complete; communicate with patients about rescheduling needs.
- Complete pre-visit tasks ahead of the NP's telehealth visit, including the ambulatory intake form, confirming home medications, and ensuring adequate audio-visual capabilities.
- Place any orders needed for upcoming visits or future testing at the NP's request, update visit status, and document outreach attempts for no-show patients.
- Complete post-visit tasks, including requesting medical records, prior authorizations, or scheduling support from office staff, and sending ambulatory care summaries to patients via the portal.
- Triage and respond to messages in the shared pool, and screen cardiologist and NP messages in their personal inboxes as needed.
- Route clinical messages to the NP for medical advice or plan clarification.
- Schedule same-day and next-day appointments for the NP, and document all attempted and completed patient communication in the medical record.
- Review patient charts to ensure data is complete for provider review.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant certification program.
- Preferred, not required: experience in virtual medicine or working with a virtual workforce.
- Preferred, not required: experience in cardiology.
- Clear, effective, and courteous communication with patients, clinical and administrative team members, and physician staff.
- Fundamental computer skills; platform-specific training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently in a work-from-home arrangement, including maintaining network security, basic technical troubleshooting, connectivity, and reliable hardware.
